Sacrament Preparation - Children - Youth
|
|
Baptism - Newborn through seven years of age
Parents must be registered and active in the parish for six months prior to
the Baptism of the child, and must attend a parent preparation session along
with the Godparents. This session is offered monthly. Baptisms are
celebrated during the Sunday Masses. To register, please call Clarene at
the Parish Office at (360) 653-9400 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
First Reconciliation and First Eucharist
As the primary catechists for their children, the parents of 2nd and 3rd
graders are guided and assisted by catechists as they prepare their children to
celebrate the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist for the first
time. Preparation for First Reconciliation is in the Fall, with the
Sacrament celebrated in November. This is followed by preparation for
First Eucharist, with the celebration taking place in Spring. These
sessions take place on Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. For more
information, or to register, call Yolanda Marsh at (360) 653-9400.
Confirmation
Youths aged 16 and
older are eligible to participate. They must be enrolled in the Senior
High Youth Group, which meets on Monday evenings. For more information,
contact Tom Albano at (360) 653-1006.
OCIC (Order of Christian Initiation for Children)
This is a journey for those school-aged children (4th through 5th grade)
who have not celebrated the sacrament of Baptism and/or Eucharist. It
prepares those children, who, for whatever reason, did not celebrate First
Reconciliation and/or First Eucharist in the 2nd or 3rd grade. They are
welcomed to celebrate these Sacraments at the Easter Vigil. OCIC is open
to those children who meet a certain criteria. These sessions take
place on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. For more information
or to register, call Yolanda Marsh at (360) 653-0425.
Sacrament Preparation - Adults
OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults)
Baptism, First Eucharist, Reconciliation, Confirmation
Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is a multi-step program
starting with inquiry of Catholics and non-Catholics alike to find out more
about the Catholic Faith. Those wishing to convert to Catholicism continue
on to the Catechumenate Phase, which starts the conversion process.
Candidates for Baptism and Confirmation are enrolled into the Catechumenate and
received into the Church at the Easter Vigil celebration. They participate
in instruction, spiritual direction, retreats and social activities.
Sessions take place Thursday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Parish
Center. For more information or to register, please contact Tom Albano at
(360) 658-1066.

It is necessary to contact the Parish Office six months in advance of the
anticipated wedding date. Copies of the parish Marriage policy are
